الوحدة البحثية

أُنشئت الوحدة البحثية بهدف تعميق المعرفة حول الاضطرابات النفسية، ومظاهرها السريرية، والفيزيولوجيا المرضية ومنهجيات العناية، وتشجيع النشاط البحثي على أيدي كادر متعدد التخصصات المهنية في المركز الطبي. ويتمثل هدف آخر بتوسيع صلات مهنية مع مؤسسات طبية وأكاديمية في البلاد والعالم.

 
ويتفرع المستشفى عن كلية الطب في التخنيون، وتشكل الوحدة البحثية قاعدة لإجراء التدريس لطلاب الطب من التخنيون. حيث أدى تطور الوحدة خلال السنوات إلى أنه في أيامنا يساهم بصورة ملحوظة في نشاطها أطباء عائدين للمركز، ويقومون بالتخصص كجزء من منهاج التخصص في طب النفس، في إطار علوم أساسية، فيؤدون خلال تلك الفترة الأطروحة الخاصة بالعلوم الأساسية في مركزنا.

 
ولحد الآن تمت تأدية أطاريح من قبل حوالي 40 متخصصا. حيث نُشِر جزء ملحوظ من نتائج تلك الأطاريح في إطار صحافة مهنية دولية.

 
وتتركز أغلبية الأطاريح على بحث اضطرابات نفسية بأبعادها المختلفة مثل: انفصام الشخصية، والاضطرابات المزاجية، والخرف، وبحوث في مجال الصيدلة النفسية.

 
وتُجرى بحوث تتركز على دراسة المزيج من انفصام الشخصية مع اضطراب الوسواس القهري، حيث أدت المنشورات الكثيرة في الصحافة الدولية إلى تولّد القناعة بأن هذا هو مرض خاص يتطلب طرق تشخيص وعناية خاصة. فيتم تطوير طرق التشخيص والعناية في الوحدة البحثية من المركز الطبي لصحة النفس معالي هكارميل.
